The Re-purposed Piece

One day, while I was studying for summer classes, I typed up what would be my re-purposed piece. It is a journal entry that compares the ecological concept of competition to the human desire to be remembered. It’s an example of humanity’s constant struggle against the limitations that science puts on us. In this case, our limit is mortality. The piece what meant for no one else to read other than me. Writing it was an attempt to help me understand a particular scientific concept and what it means to me.

However, a few months after, I decided to post it on my personal blog, as shown below. The primary element that I drew from this piece was the idea of humanity versus science. It reminded me of the academic debate about how we value the sciences and the humanities, and that became the topic of my re-purposing project.
